Witnesses unavailable for Vybz Kartel Murder Case


Incarcerated Dancehall act, Vybz Kartel’s trial originally set for yesterday, Monday February 11th has been stalled.

Lenburgh McDonald, Nigel Thompson and Kartel have been charged in relation to the killing of Barrington ‘Bossy’ Burton a businessman from St. Catherine. According to the police, Burton was murdered while standing with friends on Walkers Avenue in Gregory Park, St Catherine, July 2011.

Due to the unavailability of witnesses, the trial could not proceed.

The court has been told by the prosecution that the witnesses are refusing to co-operate.

Rescheduled to May 27, The prosecution says it’s currently exploring other means such as gathering witness statements that could be entered as evidence,in the event that the witnesses fail to appear.

Vybz Kartel and his co-accused were originally charged in October 2011.
