SEAN Paul has scored his second number one song on the United Kingdom pop singles chart with his guest spot on What About Us by British-Irish girl group the Saturdays.

His previous UK number one was also as a featured performer, on Rhythm and Blues singer Blu Cantrelle’s Breathe in 2003.

What about Us is the first number one for The Saturdays who have 14 UK pop singles entries to their credit, 12 of which went top 10.

The quintet have yet to break into the lucrative North American market.

So far, What About Us has peaked at number 79 in Canada; number 27 on Billboard’s Dance Club Play chart and number 50 on Billboard’s Pop Digital Songs chart in the US.

Formed in 2007, the Saturdays have released three studio albums to date. Their EP, Chasing the Saturdays, contains What About Us which gives Sean Paul his 22nd entry on the British pop chart, the most by a Jamaican act.

His first appearance came in 2002 when Gimmie the Light peaked at number 32. In 2003, a remix of the track fared better at number five.

Prior to What About Us and Breathe, Sean Paul’s highest place on the UK chart came was Baby Boy (with Beyonce) which went to number two.
